AQ ACENTOR: WE DELIVER ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE HOMES
Since 2018, we have been offsetting the CO2 emissions generated by our clients’ homes for the first two years.
- The CO2 emissions generated in all the homes in our developments that are delivered until 2025 will be offset in certified projects that generate clean energy.
- In Spain, a three-person household produces an average of two tonnes of CO2 per year, generated by electricity and gas consumption in the home.
- AQ Acentor has signed a global agreement with KlimaInvest, a company with more than 40 certified renewable energy projects around the world that operates according to strict Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) rules and Gold Standards.
How are we offsetting now?
In Spain, a three-person household produces an average of two tonnes of CO2 per year, generated by electricity and gas consumption in the home. To offset the carbon footprint, AQ Acentor has signed a global agreement with German company KlimaInvest, which works according to the strict Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) rules and Gold Standards. To certify this offsetting, an overall certificate is issued for AQ Acentor and an additional one for each development. Each customer receives a copy of the certificate. Once the two years are up, our customers can continue to offset their CO2 footprints on their own account.
Committed to a new way of living
Aware of the consequences that climate change is having on the planet and in line with a growing trend, at AQ Acentor we want to do our bit to achieve sustainability. That’s why, by 2022 we will have offset almost 5,000 tonnes of CO2. That’s the equivalent of three times the trees planted in the Parque de El Retiro in Madrid.
Renewing our commitment to sustainability
AQ Acentor is currently conducting an in-depth study into the environmental impact of the development of each of our homes. Our objective is to identify the CO2 emissions of all the steps in the lifecycles of all the elements within each house, the tools used to build them and the activity of those involved in the projects.
Our goal is to be able to deliver completely ‘carbon neutral’ homes in the near future.
